About Me

I am a dreamer. I spent most of my life and career trying to curb my “imaginary nonsense” as some schoolteachers were fond of muttering as I stared out the window lost in my mind. It took me thirty years and a Covid lockdown to realize that dreaming is a wonderful quality: I was just in the wrong profession! I have since given up my career in London’s Museum world for illustration. I now juggle private commissions, Christmas markets and Teacup, my unruly Scottish Terrier aptly named after Alice in Wonderland’s famous Tea parties.

As the eldest of 5, my childhood was never boring. It was filled with adventures and made-up stories which I never outgrew. I spent my teenage years buried in books (fantasy, of course) and lost in the wonderful stories and worlds my mind thought up. Through these tales I explored worlds and dimensions that led me to expand a vast imaginary landscape which remains a huge source of inspiration in my work.

Later, captivated by the British Victorian Artists' love for old tales and legends, as well as for their intricate use of color and their sensitive brushstrokes, I pursued a career in Victorian Studies. Alongside my academic work, I honed my drawing skills at night and on weekends, taking classes at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Brussels and then at the Art Academy in London. Needless to say, the artists I discovered through my academic career, sparked my imagination and are now an intrinsic part of my visual language.
After working in the museum sector in London for 8 years, I decided to follow my true calling and establish myself as an artist. I apprenticed with the talented illustrator Astrid de Broqueville and began an online BA in Illustration with the Open College of the Arts. My preferred mediums of watercolours, pencils and dipping pen & ink allow me to craft whimsical and dreamy illustrations inspired by the natural and fantastical world.
